    Mini-home Theater Connectivity Options

Laptop or desktop computer provides connectivity to both Tuner/
Receiver, Component system (Preamp, Amplifier, Surround sound
decoder) and Home theater in a Box.

    Laptop Computer

Audio - TRS connector or jack plug 3.5 mm from the speaker/
headphone-out jack, connects to the auxiliary
ports (left and right) of the tuner/receiver, component
audio system (Preamp, Amplifier and surround
sound decoder) and Home theater in a box with RCA
    connectors.
Video – S-Video, VGA and HMDI ports provide connectivity
    to CRT/LCD/DLP/Plasma, rear-projection TVs, and
Projector. Each also carries audio signals to the
    connected TVs.

    Desktop computer

Audio - audio card provides surround sound connections
    (5.1, 6.1 or higher) to Tuner/Receiver, Component
audio system and the Home theater in a box or
powered surround sound speakers using RCA
    wire connectors.
Video - connectivity depends upon the video card or graphics
card model installed in your desktop computer, whether
it is S-video, VGA or HDMI capable.

    2. Connect your mini-home theater with your video
    conferencing equipments set-up

Video conferencing equipments include webcam, microphone,
laptop or desktop computer with Free Instant messaging software
(Yahoo! Messenger 8.1) download and Internet network connection.

Better interactive home video conferencing innovations result can
be achieved with the use of a CODEC with high resolution webcam
instead of using the Instant Messaging software, but this is a little
bit more expensive for home use.

CODEC is a device or program used in video conferencing that
processes the video and audio signals between two points
(Point to point) or more distant points (Multi-points) It manages
the audiovisual communications instead of using Laptop and
    Desktop computers.

The CODEC converts analogue audio and video signals to digital
signals. It compresses them before being transmitted to distant
sites where they are decoded and expanded using another CODEC
which functions as the receiver and at the same time transmitter.
These audio/video signals are then played out on the TV monitors
and speakers or connected to your mini home theater.
