Step Four - Connect your vocal microphones to your
    audio mixer.

Connect your vocal microphones for the lead singer or "Soloist" and
for the backup singers to Input lines 11 and 12.
Step One – Connect your drums to your audio mixer.

Before you start connecting your drums to your audio mixer let’s familiarize
first with your drum microphones. You can pick your choice of ready to install
sets of microphones which are available in the market today, as shown in
    the picture.

Two basic types of microphones for your drum set:
    1. Dynamic microphone – snare drum, bass(kick) drum,
    tom-toms
    2. Condenser microphone – high-hats (Cymbals)

How to install your drum microphones to your drum set?
    1.  Snare drum – imagine that you are looking at the dial of your
wristwatch. Take note of the position of 10:00 o’clock at your watch.
That is where you position your dynamic microphone and place it 2
inches over the head and 2 inches inside of the rim pointing the center.
    2.  Tom-Toms – position your dynamic microphone the same way as that
of the snare drum except that you place it at 12:00 o’clock.
    3.  Bass (kick) drum – usually the latest models of bass drums have a
built-in hole at the front side. Place your bass drum in such a way
that the hole is parallel to the floor and insert your dynamic
microphone 2 inches inside the hole. Point your microphone away
from the center of the drum. Take note that the bass microphone is
a little bit larger from that of the snare drum and tom-tom dynamic
    microphones.
    4.  High-hats – place the condenser microphones for the high-hat cymbals
at 10:00 o’clock, 4 inches above and pointing straight down.

Lastly, connect these drum microphones to your audio mixer input
line 1 to 6 using multi core cable or “snake” cable with TRS connectors.
Fine tune your drums to its desired sound and your drum set is ready
    for the gig.

How to Install Your Musical Band Equipments To Your
    Audio Mixer

What is an audio mixer?

An audio mixer or sound board is an electronic
gadget which is used to mix audio signals (input
signals) produced by your musical and instruments
such as: drums, electric guitars, synthesizer or your
voice and microphones in order to produce a combined
output signal. It controls the level of audio signals
from the different musical instruments through its
    individual volume control.

The output signal coming from your mixer, on the other hand, is sent to an
amplifier which is further sent to a set of speakers. If you use a powered
mixer or powered speakers, there is no need to use amplifiers.

It has a built-in volume control, equalizer, tone control, reverb settings and
other features that facilitates easy operations . The latest models has USB
connectors that can be plugged into your computer which enables you to
do home recordings.

Audio mixer or sound board is usually used in a sound reinforced system
which you are using with your musical band audio set-up, public address
system, recording studio, radio broadcasting system, and television audio
system.

Install your musical instruments to your audio mixer

Musical Instruments and electronic equipments needed . . .
Step Two – Connect your synthesizer to your audio
    mixer.

A synthesizer is an electronic instrument which produces several kinds of
audio signals that imitates sounds produced by many kinds of musical
instruments such as piano, organ, violins, wind instruments and stringed
instruments, etc. It is typically played like a piano keyboard with multiple
    settings.

The three main types of synthesizers are analog,
digital and software-based. Musical sound is
produced by creating electrical signals instead of
direct sounds from a musical instrument. These
sound energy are converted into electrical signals
by microphones, headsets, guitar pick-ups and are
amplified by powered mixers, amplifiers using a
    loudspeaker or monitor with headphones.

There are array of settings to choose from the different kinds of musical
instruments you are going to use. It’s just a matter of clicking the desired
button and start playing. The band member that plays this instrument is
    often called “keyboardist”.

Connect your synthesizer to your audio mixer using a multi core
cable or “snake cable” with TRS connectors from aux-L/R to Input
line 7 in your audio mixer. An adaptor for this cable is used when
connecting your MIDI interface In/Out to your audio mixer or
computer by using a Din 5/180-degree connector.
Step Three – Connect your electric guitars to your audio
    mixer.

Lead guitar – refers to a 6-stringed electric guitar used by lead
guitarists to create a sustained singing tone or “guitar solo”. Pickups
(guitar microphones) and other lead guitar accessories such as effects
pedal which includes distortion pedal for sustained singing tone; delay
effects pedal for reverb; wah-wah pedal which explains itself and
univibe effects which is a phase shifter.
Rhythm guitar – a 6-stringed electric guitar which provides a rhythmic
accompaniment for a singer and “guitar solo” in a rock band.
    Bass guitar – is a 4-stringed; 5-stringed or 6-stringed electric guitar
with usually larger strings in order to produce low pitched sounds. It
has typically a longer neck. The bass player uses his fingers, thumb or
a pick to pluck, slap, tap or thump the strings to produce the desired
      sounds.

Connect your electric lead, rhythm and bass guitars using multi core
cables with TRS terminals into Input line 8 to10 of your audio mixer,
      respectively.
